Miguel Ángel García Fuentes, Coordinator for Remourban, spoke on mobility and the work done by the City of Nottingham to implement the largest fleet of electric busses in
Electric and hybrid electric buses...
The measure is consistent with the Air Quality Plan and the actions of Madrid’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP). It is also aligned with EMT’s strategic plans regarding clean fleet uptake.
The research and planning phase saw the evaluation of different alternatives for the type of public transport service required in another measure of ECCENTRIC project.Taking into account the length and characteristics of the high-level public transport service corridors in peripheral districts, the conclusion was that the fully electric buses available on the market did not meet the necessary

Positive staff experience with electric vehicles, used to promote green image of the University, after proof of concept an additional electric vehicle of the same make was purchased
Data gathered from usage of the electric vehicles and e-bikes is being used to develop to a greater understanding of mobility in the city.
The two electric vehicles procured by MMU have recorded 16,404 miles until July 2017. MMU have realised savings of c.2200€ in fuel costs and 4.1 tonnes CO2. In addition, had these journeys been made by staff in their own vehicles, MMU would have needed
Camera based crowd management in...
The cameras have in-built software to recognize pedestrians and cyclists. The data are used to manage crowds in the city center. The system has an in-built decision system and informs e.g. law enforcement if necessary. Crowd managers are notified and can view the data via a dashboard or mobile app.
The cameras do not transmit images but only counts of pedestrians and cyclists (privacy by design). Therefore smaller data transmission rates are also needed.
Software-controlled road safety...
With this measure, the city of Munich aims to develop and demonstrate the potential of a new and innovative software-controlled road safety management concept in the districts of Domagkpark and Parkstadt Schwabing (north of Munich’s city centre). The concept will allow identifying risks before accidents occur and to take appropriate prevention action. This is a preventive approach to road safety management that seeks to increase the safety inherent to the road system, reduce the amount and severity of accidents, and create a safe mobility environment for all road users.
Geospatial Analysis for EV...
Energeo are in discussions with East Lothian now to undertake further analysis to support their urban mobility initiatives. Service development is also underway to integrate Energeo's renewable energy data to enable identification of clean, local and off-grid power supply to the EVCP's, and local grid infrastructure data to allow determination of grid constraints and grid impact of EVCP installation. Additionally, Energeo are developing a SaaS platform that would enable the end user to access this data through a browser, and run EVCP deployment scenarios on the fly to determine impacts
Things Connected IOT Network
This use case partnered solution designers with challenge owners and set them on a course for co-designing and developing solutions that were not readily available on the market thus encouraging truely innovative solutions for unmet needs.
It also held a number of design led workshops with partners from a number of vertical industries including Mobility, Tourism, Circular Economy, Health and Smart Buildings to better understand some of the industry pain points that might be solved using IOT.
Solar Bus Station in Banja Luka
Installed solar panels that convert clean solar energy to electricity
Implemented 2 contactless mobile phone chargers
Implemented 4 USB sockets
Installed new bicycle parking spaces as part of the bus station
Implemented touch display with informations about bus arrival
Tourist map with interesting tourist destinations near the station is also shown on the display
Installed camera with remote access

Park & Ride system in the...
Druzhba is one of the entrances to the city centre with high volumes of traffic. This district is currently affected by high traffic volumes, and public space has deteriorated greatly due to the high number of cars parked on the streets occupying various public areas.
The ultimate goal of the measure is to promote a modal shift towards public transport, and other active modes of mobility, by reducing the needs (of commuters and other users) to individually occupy cars for their regular trips to the city centre. The development of a Park&Ride facility will allow easy
Smart Parking in Aachen
As a pilot project, we installed 13 sensors in the Friedrichstraße to generate a digital twin of the city with live data about the current parking situation. This information is accessible via an API to be used an analyzed by the partners of this project. In additon to that the residents of that area can always see the occupation of all parking spots live on their phones via a mobile web interface.
1. Setting up Sensors
2. Monitoring Parking Spots
3. Showing data to residents on a WEB UI
4. Making Data available to project

Data-Enabled Innovation Challenges
Grass root approach adopted to identify citizen challenges, giving participants a guideline on which challenges they could possibly solve using the data.
To demonstrate the sort of innovation of interest they created three exemplar apps. These were simple concepts that used data, systems and ideas from the Triangulum project and aligned with the themes of mobility and energy.
The innovation challenges will run twice per year from 2018-2020. The process will adapt and learn. The first challenge will focus upon the exemplar apps and encourage participants to identify ways to improve

The pilot is likely to indicate electric buses as a cost-efficient and reliable alternative to diesel buses, and a solution to reach CO2 neutrality. Other emissions and environmental noise should be significantly reduced as well.
The pilot is expected to generate, increase and maintain awareness of, demand for and satisfaction in electric powered bus services, and sustainable mobility in general.
Another significant goal is improving drivers’ working conditions by reduced levels of noise and vibration in the EVs.
Ultimately, as a combined result
