Modern agriculture in Yunlin faces a significant talent gap. Existing farmers often lack modern agricultural skills, young people continue to leave rural areas, and an ageing workforce threatens future food production. The county set out to build a pipeline of skilled agricultural talent, equipping current farmers with new capabilities and giving young people the training, certification and startup support needed to build careers in farming.
Farmers and young people take part as trainees in the programme, and certification gives participants recognised credentials that support their progression into modern agricultural careers and entrepreneurship.
