Traditional weather stations couldn’t reveal microclimate differences caused by shading, materials, and traffic, making it hard to pinpoint urban heat hotspots. The main goal is to understand how heat varies within the city, evaluate the impact of urban design on temperature, and use data-driven insights to enhance outdoor comfort, energy efficiency, and sustainability in city planning.
FortyGuard pioneered a new class of Large AI Models called Large Temperature Models (LTMs) — the first AI models purpose-built to understand and predict temperature at street-level precision. The LTMs process massive environmental, urban, and sensor datasets to model how heat behaves in real time across Masdar City. This breakthrough enabled detailed mapping of microclimates and identification of localized heat patterns, empowering Masdar City with actionable insights to guide cooling strategies and sustainable urban design.
