The Southern Regional Assembly is part of the regional tier of government in Ireland. The Assembly forges links between the EU, and national and local levels through Regional Spatial and Economic Planning and European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) for the benefit of the Southern Region and beyond.
The Southern Regional Assembly is building on the principles of Smart Cities and exploring how to develop an applied understanding of what the development of a Smart Region means for different locations with differing attributes. The Assembly is working to establish a Smart Region definition and a framework to facilitate Smart Cities driving a Smart Region.
