About us

It is one of three successor counties to County Dublin, with a population of 225.535 as per 2019. The County is one of the four local goverment areas in the old County Dublin and its main city is Dún Laoghaire. University College Dublin and Dún Laoghaire Institute are located within.

Smart City/Region Status: The County is part of the Smart Dublin initiative and is represented at the steering committee by representatives of its council. Being part of this groundbreaking inivtiative, the county aims to develop innovation projects to adress the challenges of climate adaptation and mitigation.
