The City Council of Las Rozas is going to replace the obsolete interior and exterior lighting in the Municipal Skating Center, the Martín Dones Pavilion and the multifunctional sports courts Retamar I and II and Primero de Mayo with new LED systems thanks to a project approved by the Governing Board.

  • The energy savings from the installation of these new LED luminaires is more than 50%.
  • The base bidding budget for this project has been set at 413,850.61 euros (VAT included) and the execution period for the works has been set at 13 weeks.
  • After the replacement of the current lighting with LED technology , possible overheating that could cause the lights to go out will be avoided, electricity consumption will be significantly reduced and the lighting conditions of the installation will be improved, increasing the lighting levels, improving the uniformity and chromatic quality of the light.
  • The energy savings from the installation of these new LED luminaires is greater than 50%, since they require less than half the electrical power to produce the same luminous flux as the current lamps. The efficiency of this type of luminaire is close to 90%. In addition, this new type of luminaire has a negligible emission of reactive electrical component, which will allow the penalty for reactive component of the power supply company to be zero.
  • By reducing energy consumption, power plants are able to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions, thus contributing to compliance with national and international environmental regulations and directives, such as the Kyoto Protocol.
  • With respect to light pollution, by adjusting the levels of each lamp to the values established in the Regulations and UNE Standards, it is achieved that the areas are sufficiently illuminated for the development of the sports activity and also that the night lighting is as close as possible to its natural state.
