Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF) is a biennial international urban forum organized with the motto of “Cities Developing Solutions” by Marmara Municipalities Union (MMU). MARUF23 will be held with the theme of “Resilience and Beyond” on 4-7 October in Istanbul Congress Center to bring together urban thinkers around passionate debates on how to make cities more livable, sustainable, resilient, and inclusive.

It will gather all stakeholders including professionals from cities, national, regional and local governments, private sector, NGOs, universities and other stakeholders that play a crucial role in the design, transformation and governance of cities. BABLE is among MARUF's most valueble partners which includes UN-Habitat, ICLEI, Metropolis, CDP, WRI, WWF, UNDP, UITP, ALDA, NALAS as well as many other NGOs, municipalities, universities, think-tanks, development agencies.

The forum will host plenary sessions, roundtables, workshops, serious games, ideathons, networking events, exhibitions, field trips, side events, cultural events, booths, film screenings and various other events.

On 7 October, World Metropolitan Day event will be organized within the framework of MARUF23 in partnership with Metropolis and UN-Habitat.

We’ll address a wide range of topics, including but not limited to climate change, energy efficiency, migration, infrastructure, disaster management, governance, inequalities, social cohesion, mobility, public health, digitalization, circular economy, public space, housing, local development.
