- The five finalists of the Accessible City 2024 Award have demonstrated best practices and have stood out for their commitment to ensuring the accessibility of urban life for all, including the elderly and people with disabilities. In practice, this refers to the built environment, public transport, facilities and services, as well as information and communication technologies.
- Of the 32 cities that applied for the award, a total of 21 candidates were shortlisted by national experts. Subsequently, a European jury selected the five finalists for their efforts to remove barriers and champion inclusion.
- The winner and the two runners-up of the Accessible City Award 2024 will be announced on December 1 at an awards ceremony during the European Day of People with Disabilities conference.
