The objective of the project is to increase energy sustainability and thermal comfort, specifically in the building heating sector, as well as to make the energy transition towards renewable and more efficient sources. The project is aligned with the PACES and other strategic plans of the Municipality of Guarda, objectives that are fully shared by the five (5) municipalities involved in the project. In addition to the energy transition of the residential sector and municipal buildings to renewable and more sustainable sources, the project aims to attract innovative energy companies and enterprises to the region.

BABLE, in collaboration with IPI Consulting Network, has developed an Investment Concept with the following parties in mind:

  1. Description of the investment project
  2. Identification of local promoters and other interested parties
  3. Legal framework analysis
  4. Economic and financial feasibility analysis
  5. Elaboration of the Project execution schedule

In addition to the study, specific support actions were also carried out:

  • Support for the participation of public and private sector stakeholders, as well as the launch of an awareness and participation campaign for the region's citizens and businesses.
  • Holding of workshops with the region's most relevant municipalities and stakeholders.

The thematic focus of the project is to create an energy and CO2 emission saving heating and cooling system for public, private, and industrial spaces in the 5 municipalities. Therefore, the project aims to implement renewable energy sources (e.g. solar panels, wind turbines) and more efficient consumption sources (e.g. heat pumps) dimensioned and integrated in Renewable Energy Communities (REC).
