The Green Fund in France is a scheme designed to accelerate the ecological transition in local and regional areas. It is designed to finance projects submitted by local authorities and their public or private partners in three areas: environmental performance, adapting the region to climate change and improving the quality of life.

In 2024, the French government decided to perpetuate the Green Fund until 2027 and to increase it to €2.5 billion.

It also includes two new measures:

  •  Support for rural mobility
  •  Support for green industry regions

The renovation of public buildings measure is also evolving, with a focus on adapting schools to reduce their energy consumption and promote the well-being of students.
