The ScaleTHENGlobal programme from the EIT Urban Mobility Business Creation has launched today an Open Call for Cities to collect proposals in the form of city challenges. Interested cities should fill in a brief online questionnaire clearly describing their city challenge to be solved by the 15 startups participating in the programme.

The ScaleTHENGlobal is a EU-funded programme with pan-European dimension implemented through EIT Urban Mobility partners that supports startups in scaling-up their business in Europe, driving growth and going international. On 15 June, some of the most promising emerging companies in the field of urban mobility were selected as the next participants in the ScaleTHENGlobal Programme. For the next months, they will benefit from financial support, mentoring, coaching, expert workshops, access to local ecosystems, participation at key European events, and services valued at more than €20,000 provided by the programme partners, such as access to the 5GLabBraWo Lab (Brunswick, Germany).

Among the activities of the programme in 2021, ScaleTHENGlobal will support the 3 best pilot projects with 50k€ by matching city challenges and innovative solutions of the 15 startups engaged in the programme. The programme has now launched an Open Call for Cities to collect the city challenges as the first step of the selection process.

By offering themselves as living labs or test beds, cities support the startups in testing and validating new challenged-based solutions aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life, decarbonising transport, and making Europe’s economy more competitive. Besides, by getting involved in ScaleTHENGlobal, cities can attract the best innovators and offer them opportunities to adjust their innovative product or service to further customer requirements, local circumstances, cultural differences, and regulations.
