The target is for Lippulaiva to become an energy positive district. Increasing electrification of vehicles will result in an increase in electricity demand. Multiple renewable energy sources ensure that one may compensate for the shortcomings of another, whether climate or infrastructure-related.
The solution includes 4 MW ground source heat pump plants, providing heating and cooling for Lippulaiva and recycling waste heat sources.
Electricity demand is covered with PV panels (roof and facade, peak power of approximately 630 kWp) and certified renewable electricity.
Passive involvement of the local residents, informing them about the project progress.
