The Ingka Group decided to replace their old parking lot lights at the Marshopping shopping mall with new technology to achieve energy reduction and CO2 emissions savings while also reinforcing enhanced connectivity for mall users and at outdoor events.
With Omniflow's sustainable and smart lighting system powered by wind and solar energy, the implementation achieved a 94% energy and CO2 emission savings. Omniflow's lighting system has integrated batteries that store the produced energy and use it at the edge where it's needed. The design of the luminaire enables the possibility of retrofitting the existing poles, which represents a more economical option, avoiding expensive and time-consuming civil work. The awarded design offers all functionalities in a fully integrated solution (single component) ready to install multiple added-value services, such as telecommunications. In this installation, Omniflow installed a small base station inside of the units that provide better cell coverage to the users of the mall and enhanced capacity for outdoor events while using less radiation.
