Challenge / Goal

In order to develop a human centered government approach, we started developing MyApp. Due to a big administration which is fragmented and the pressure from legislation (GDPR, eIDAS e.o.), we had the triggers to start developing a solution which was not only applicable for 225k citizens from Eindhoven but also 17 million people in the Netherlands. Instead of starting with the system, the use case was focused on the human centered approach which resulted in MyApp.

The idea is simple- technology enlightens life and  simple things support  big decision. With MyApp, people could have an overview of data in their life, for example, personal data, health records, insurances and financial information. They are able to arrange things that are necessary to their livings.

In addition, the development of MyApp will help to build on the eGovernment strategy for Europe, with compliant on the GDPR, Tallinn Act, eIDAS and PSD2. The work is done with the National government and it is connected to the Urban Agenda. 


In co-creation with citizens, partners and our national government, we developed an eGovernment strategy which was the main driver of applying the human centric approach through MyApp. We started with a small mock-up which was developed into a prototype with an underlying roadmap.

It consists of the following functions:

  1. MyApp front (user interface for citizens & business): to have insight in your own data + simple customer journey to use government (and more) services
  2. MyApp portal (user interface for service providers) in very easy building blocks to decrease administration, and build own customer journeys
  3. Roadmap based on 5 layer module & microservices to extract relevant data (development still in progress)
