Challenge / Goal

ABB Group is a provider of devices that control building's electric grid, heating, AC, and other systems. A sustainable solution was needed to improve the quality of life and work, and to provide a human-centric smart building experience. 


The company nmodes created Intelligent Building where devices and systems are connected with conversational AI. End users (building tenants and operators) communicate with AI to fulfil their requests and wishes (e.g. dim the lights, submit maintenance requests), receive required information from the building (e.g. temperature on the building floor, level of humidity in the office), and manage the daily workflow (e.g. find out when a meeting room is available to schedule a meeting).

nmodes AI is connected to the building’s devices and systems and knows to provide services in natural language. The AI supports communication both ways – from the building to human users and from human users to the building. AI continuously self-learns and improves over time.
