Gaziantep ranks 30th in Turkey in the socio-economic development index and 6th in the competitiveness and innovation sub-heading of the same index. Thus, it is the leader in the region in which it is situated. Economically, Gaziantep is a robust export-oriented industrial city and is at the forefront of Turkey. In recent years, Gaziantep has also made progress in tourism. It endeavors to provide an overall attractive environment for entrepreneurs.
With the impact of these factors, the population of Gaziantep has increased substantially in recent years. The rapidly increasing population has led to the prompt expansion of the city and created a significant influence on urbanisation and infrastructure works. Due to the rising needs of the city, a serious need for transformation has also emerged. For this transformation, a specially designed and highly protected data center has been established where we will store all our data. All data belonging to the municipality will be collected in this data centre.
The cooperation programs, where solution development projects will be discussed, aim to set the smart roadmaps that will improve urban services in the areas of management, transportation, public health, welfare, environment, energy, water resources management, security, education and culture. Furthermore, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality will be guided on the Smart Cities project.
The control of the city will be provided from this center. All software and hardware facilities of the developing world will be utilized by designing them in the most appropriate way for the city to offer better, faster and more efficient services. Virtual representations, of which there are very few examples in the world, will be able to be seen simultaneously through the “virtual twin of the city” to be formed in this centre.
