DATEN:RAUM:FREIBURG - Visualisation of Live Traffic

The core of the implementation was the visualisation of live traffic data as a web application, which serves the explorative analysis of traffic flows in the city. This was prototypically implemented in the last project phase. The focus was on the area-wide live display of car traffic flow and bicycle traffic, as well as the display of corresponding data from camera images. In addition to the live representation, the historical representation of the data is also possible, which allows the depiction of individual points in time and intervals. This allows hypotheses to be formed about the course and forecasts, which in turn serves as a basis for a better understanding and more efficient, people- and environment-friendly planning and control of traffic. The focus on bicycle traffic in particular is new here.

In addition, a long-term operating concept for the solution was developed. This includes (cloud) infrastructure requirements as well as personnel requirements necessary for stand-alone operation of the solution in a productive environment.
