Challenge / Goal
The creation of additional 'Nachbarschaftstreff' locations in other socially disadvantaged neighborhoods should be planned for the coming years to develop long-term measures for improving the living environment. The 'Nachbarschaftstreff' model, which can also be exported to other neighborhoods, offers significant replication potential. This model includes the establishment of a strong network among local partners and collaboration in organizing events for citizens. In developing this model, Seecon has developed its communication capabilities and experimented with various approaches to engage citizens, while also enhancing the internal structure of the Seecon Team for Citizen Participation.
Citizen participation
Citizens were engaged through participatory workshops, mobile apps that allowed them to become better informed and involved. Families with children actively participated, and interested citizens provided input and asked questions at various locations, such as the DIPAS table or the Ökofete booth. We informed families about the opportunities offered by the developed apps and brought people together to discuss specific energy-saving topics.
