Connecta VLCi: 194 smart municipal buildings and facilities

Challenge / Goal

The objective of the "Connecta VLCi" initiative is:

• provide valuable services to citizens and visitors
• enabling greater efficiency in the provision of public services
• the development and implementation of openness policies
• the reuse of public data to help the generation of new services or the enrichment of existing ones.

The initiative consists of several actions:

Connecta Esports aims at the implementation of a sensorization and performance infrastructure in municipal sports facilities aimed at their homogeneous management to enable the unified provision of services and reservations in a transparent way to the citizen, regardless of the management of the sports center.

• It consists of 58 sports facilities
• Improved management: maintenance, court and activity reservations, occupancy sensors to control capacity and accesses, etc.
• Improving the services offered and resulting in greater accessibility and comfort for users.

Connecta Museus pursues the optimization of the services offered to the user. Such as booking and ticket sales, so that the experience of visiting or interacting with each museum is perfect. A technological infrastructure will be implemented to allow better control of the facilities, conservation of collections, maintenance of equipment and centralized management.

• For 22 museums and monuments, the project aims to deploy an online ticketing platform and a dynamic content visualization system, as well as options related to geolocation and augmented reality.

Connecta Mercats aims to improve the shopping experience for citizens and visitors, as well as to improve efficiency in the provision of public services. A sensorization infrastructure will be implemented to generate new services for citizens, thus improving their relationship with municipal markets.

• In the case of 16 municipal markets, it is expected to be able to offer new online services through a platform that will benefit both customers and vendors and managers.

Connecta Escoles aims to provide an environmental awareness platform for the educational community that includes online services, as well as improving efficiency by monitoring and acting on public schools.

• 98 publicly funded schools will benefit from an environmental awareness platform for the educational community, which will include online and app services (through the city's App). In addition, other private schools wishing to join the initiative may be included.

Connecta Sostenible aims to deploy a global building management platform, an energy management module and its integration with the city platform. The expected benefits with the deployment of the platform are:

• Energy savings.
• Maintenance cost savings.
• Contribution to the reduction of the global CO2 footprint and improvement in the efficiency of resource use.
• Efficient inventory of municipal resources.
• Implementation of BIM models of municipal buildings.
