Challenge / Goal

Biedronka, the food retail leader in Poland, operating more than 3000 stores around the country, launched one of its freshest and most modern stores at the end of 2019. The challenge was to avoid CO2 emissions for the new store, and in this case specifically, the store's parking lot.

Solution

By installing Omniflow's Smart IoT Lamp Pole, Biedronka saved an impressive 82% of electric energy when compared to normal LED lighting systems, or 97% compared to old technology lighting.
The lighting units are managed remotely by an Internet of Things software, are powered by wind and solar energy, and have a built-in energy storage battery to further reduce any reliance on the grid. When batteries are depleted, consumption switches to take energy from the grid instead.
