Challenge / Goal

Several on-demand services from different providers existed in the Paris region. To make it easier to get people in the suburbs from A to B, Île-de-France Mobilités commissioned Padam Mobility to unify these different on-demand services and create a single booking and management system. 


The on-demand project in the Paris region was launched in 2018 with an initial on-demand service (operated by Transdev). After winning the tender, Padam Mobility, together with its technology partners Setec and Webhelp, launched the on-demand service "TAD IDFM" in June 2019.  
From July 2019, new areas were gradually opened up and new on-demand services were made available on the platform. This gradual scaling allowed the transport association to get a better overview of how the service was received in each district and how it could best be designed to meet as many user demands as possible. 

In this process, Padam Mobility supports Île-de-France Mobiltés as an experienced advisor. The data collected allows for a much better transparency of the mobility behaviour of the residents. In addition, Île-de-France Mobilités has better control over its expenditure and can, for example, expand its territory more effectively or use the vehicle fleet in a more resource-efficient way. 

The regional management and booking platform enables the different actors to access different levels of information: 

  • The user selects a suitable area in the booking app or booking website via the same customer account.
  • Transport operators have access to the data of the area or areas they operate through a dedicated management interface.
  • The transport authority has access to all statistics for the area: a dashboard allows them to manage the demand-responsive transport for the entire region.
