Challenge / Goal
There is a huge increasing need to reduce our carbon footprint. To do that, most States & Cities are promoting photovoltaic (PV) and electric vehicles (EV).
The problem is the end customer does not manage to consume its PV production locally - on average only 25% is consumed and the rest is lost and flows back to the grid, creating disturbance and instability. On top of that, more EV means a huge investment from the Grid is needed to cope with those levels of load... We need a solution to improve energy usage efficiency.
Solution
Our Smart Energy Management System tackles both issues. On one hand we maximise the end-user self consumption with our smartbox that has the capability to connect and control any equipment (Heat pump, battery, water boiler, EV charger...) through our patenting technology based on AI.
On the other hand, we can assess and capture the flexibility embedded in a home/business to help the Grid be much more resilient. We offer the Grid manager some monitoring information (load, voltage, active/reactive power, PV production etc) and also ancillary services through Demand Response Management (e.g. peak shaving, solar lopping, load shifting, voltage support...).
Ultimately, with our unified platform we will reduce energy bills for the end-customer, enhance grid stability and reduce GHG emissions.
