UMAM provides an easy-to-use, supported self-assessment tool to analyse the mobility performance of cities.

It is based on open-data indicators derived from scientific and expert review and piloted/revised in partnership with cities around Europe. Measures within the UMAM are complementary to SUMI,SUMP and SULP suggested from the EU as well as comparable, both within a single city on a regular basis (suggested annually) as well as in a benchmark with the average performance of cities.

UMAM was developed and piloted already in partnership with and for cities through the EIT Urban Mobility Factory and its City Club member cities. UMAM assesses an urban mobility system holistically based on six key dimensions. Indicators are weighted based on city expert review to prioritise the most important factors for cities. UMAM is optimised to best meet the needs of cities, both in terms of design/usability and content.

UMAM is being used to drive innovative urban mobility around Europe.
