The BABLE team is delighted to announce a new online training course: SMARTER CONNECTED PLACES - experiential learning for tomorrow's urban leaders.  

Learn from experienced trainers who have worked with the most innovative, progressive local authorities from around Europe delivering impactful smart programmes. Whatever your specialist interest: urban mobility, energy transition, 20 minute or liveable neighbourhoods, climate actions, innovation zones, test beds, this course will give you a bedrock of insights and tools to run your own programme.  Scheduled to run online with 4 consecutive weekly sessions, starting Tuesday, 15th November between 9am & 12pm. Learning modules include: 

  • Smarter Connected Places Foundation - 15th November - Strategy, scope and vision come together to help shape your plan, by identifying drivers, the intended impact and the stakeholder helix you’ll need to engage with.  
  • Innovative Financing & Procurement – 22nd November - Alternative funding options, leveraging private public partnerships, and the role and styles of procurement all influence your programme’s outcomes.  
  • Leveraging Data and Ensuring Privacy – 29th November - Data strategies, governance and risk management are vital to the integrity and decision-making process.  
  • Citizen Participation & Living Labs – 6th December - Co-creation process for sharing best practices and engaging with stakeholders, and the design and implementation of Living Labs

Whilst the focus of this course is the UK market, the key skill learnings will be relevant to international participants. We welcome anyone who has a good understanding of English to join us.
