Do you have a next-generation idea to transform the way people move sustainably in an urban setting? As part of the SPARCS project, KONE launches an open co-innovation challenge aiming to find novel solutions for sustainable mobility.

Energy consumption and greenhouse emissions of traffic in cities are some of the greatest urban sustainability challenges towards carbon neutrality. To make cities better places to live, new bold solutions and partnerships are needed to tackle these issues. This is a call for action! Participating companies are invited to contribute to sustainable mobility and development of energy positive cities by proposing new and innovative ideas, business models, or solutions. Ideas can be related to one or many of the current mobility trends: micro-mobility, shared mobility and multimodal navigation.

What’s in it for you?

The participating companies will go through a mentoring process where the initial ideas will be co-created further with experts from KONE and SPARCS network. The winning company will have the possibility to develop and test the concept in a living lab context together with KONE. The innovation process takes place in Autumn 2021 and piloting of interventions in the first half of 2022. The challenge is targeted at companies around Europe, but the piloting will take place in Espoo, Finland.
Submit your idea by October 1st, 2021! See the challenge brief for registration and contact details below.

The Sustainable Mobility Challenge is organised by KONE Corporation and Gaia Consulting in collaboration with SPARCS Espoo and Leipzig lighthouse city partners.
