Challenge / Goal
Test of Ope as flexible office inventory. Test of shielding and sound absorber functionality. Can work environment be improved through customized and adaptive solutions built to suit employees needs.
Two Ope modules where placed in an area that was considered as "dead space" in an open-plan office. The modules where built based on needs described by employees. One module was built as room divider to shield those working nearby for the distraction of people passing by when entering the office. Plants where used to extend the room divider and to create a softer and more welcoming feel. Sound absorbers where places within the module to reduce the sound of people entering and going out of the office. Part of the module was built as a seating area to encourage social interaction between the employees. The module will be reconfigured according to requests from emplyees and re-tested. Once test is completed, the company will have the opportunity to rent or buy the modules.
Note: Employees at Sparebank 1 SR-Bank where involved and gave input to the design of the module in advance. Employees seated at the floor where the module is built are testing the module and it's function. They will be able to give input to the design and functionality before the next re-configuration.
