Municipality’s public authorities have identified a need to adopt sustainable energy management solutions and infrastructure upgrades in order to reach desired economic performance goals and contribute to the creation of socially and environmentally – responsible communities. The public buildings in the municipality currently have massive energy consumption. Also 25% of the energy use dto run the public facilities is wasted.
NOVO MESTO MUNICIPALITY KEY FIGURES: - Consumption of resources: electricity, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, water, heating oil. - Number of facilities: 54 - Metering points: 300 + ENERGY CONSUMPTION: - Total energy consumption: 18.269.000 kWh - Total energy costs:8 MM EUR /year - Electricity:6.930.000 kWh - Water: 83.505 l - Natural gas: 8.250.000 kWh - Heating oil:2.800.000 kWh
An energy management system was introduced in the public building to get immediate savings and energy loss reductions. Through the energy management system, the energy consumption is being closely monitored with more than 300 metering points: this includes monitoring of electricity, natural gas, heating oil, LPG, and water.
Additionally. energy efficiency analysis is being carried out which analyses energy usage and costs. Energy consumption benchmarking has also been carried out to monitor over consumption situations. The Key performance indicators have also been defined and are being monitored for this purpose.
A comprehensive water management system was implemented, wherein the meters were connected with innovative wireless long range equipment, ComBoxL, which transfer data to GemaLogic Software platform where functionalities of water consumption monitoring, cost analysis and comparison of consumption pattern is carried out for several buildings.
